He is not perfect neither is he everyone’s cup of tea, However, the manner in which the American higher powers have gone after him is nothing short of callous and hypocritical.
Let us not forget that Trump was duly elected by the American people. Whether we agree with their choice or not, it is their choice to make. And yet, the so-called champions of democracy have sought to undermine that choice at every turn. It is a clear display of the double standards and hypocrisy that runs deep within the American political system.
But wait, it gets even better. Just as America is tearing itself apart with its self-righteous crusade against Trump, Vladimir Putin, the leader of Russia, has called out this hypocrisy with a twist of irony. In a recent speech, Putin rightfully pointed out the absurdity of America’s attempts to lecture other countries on democracy while simultaneously undermining its own democratic processes. And, dare I say it, he has a point.
Now, before you jump to conclusions, let me make one thing clear – I am not a supporter of Putin. He is a man with a questionable record on human rights and freedom of speech. However, in this instance, he has hit the nail on the head. America’s actions have exposed the ugly truth about its political system, and the rest of the world is watching with a mix of amusement and disdain.
The truth is, America has a long history of interfering in the affairs of other countries under the guise of promoting democracy and freedom. From covert operations to outright military interventions, the American government has not been shy about imposing its will on other nations. And yet, when the shoe is on the other foot, they cry foul and demand respect for their own internal affairs. It is a classic case of “do as I say, not as I do.”
