Taming the Beast: My Experience of Being Unbelievably Blessed with an Amazing Husband

More than just a romantic partner, my husband has been a superhero – a fusion of Superman and Batman. He makes my life a roller-coaster ride of exhilaration, where ups and downs are equally thrilling.

Now, don’t think I’m just swooning like a teenager here, when I say ‘amazing husband’, I mean a man who is constantly challenging himself, putting his inner self on the line, stepping out onto the unknown paths of life where most men fear to tread.

My husband is my co-pilot, he is my storm, but simultaneously he is my sanctuary. He charges me up, and yet, he relaxes me. His words and actions are like a blast of fresh air, pulling me out from the whirlwind of everyday predicaments, reminding me to breathe, to live.

Plenty of people ask me, “How did I get so lucky?” Here’s my answer. I didn’t rely on luck. I prayed and waited for God to do the rest. With my heart and soul. I wanted a man who is God fearing, confident, committed, and courageous. I found him.

Believe it or not, he’s not perfect. He has his flaws, and it’s one aspect I appreciate immensely. It enables us to grow together, learn from each other. Life with him is a non-stop adventure where we’re continually learning and evolving. You want routine? Forget it. You want conventional? Look elsewhere.

When we argue, it’s like playing chess –- a game of intellect and composure. He listens, really listens, presenting his perspective while respecting mine. Yes, sometimes we lose our cool – we are human, after all. Yet, we come out stronger, more accepting, more in love.

Now, here’s the catch – marriage isn’t easy. But with the right partner, you can make it the best ride of your life. It’s about being with someone who magnifies your strengths, complements your weaknesses, someone who makes you strive to be the best version of yourself. That’s my man.

Let’s not sugar-coat reality though. There are tough days, times when love seems like a battlefield, where we’re soldiers trying to survive. But that’s the beauty of it. The hard times. Because once we conquer them, we breathe that sigh of relief. Ah! Victory. Sweet victory. Our love rekindles, hotter, brighter.
