Since Empire arrived on our screens in 2015, the explosive Hip-Hop drama has become a favourite among fans
As things heat up around the Lyon family, expect all the biggest characters to make a return, including Cookie Lyon (Taraji P. Henson), Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard), Andre Lyon (Trai Byers), Jamal Lyon (Jussie Smollett), Hakeem Lyon (Bryshere Y. Gray) and Anika Calhoun (Grace Byers).
Famous faces set to make cameos this season are rumoured to include Oprah Winfrey, Tyrese Gibson, Lenny Kravitz and Gina Gershon as Red Oaks
However interestingly, Taraji P. Henson is rumoured to be considering leaving the showafter season 4.
The Release Date
For US fans, Empire is confirmed to return to TV screens on 27th September 2017!
However UK fans can expect it to appear during Autumn 2017, with no release date confirmed.
The Plot
Following the explosive cliff-hanger at the end of season 3, there is rumoured to be a “reset” of the plot.
Empire executive producer Ilene Chaiken told Deadline that following the the car explosion that almost killed Lucious in season 3, he is going to be dealing with “the aftermath of this event, the damage to his mind and his body. Whether or not his memory is permanently or just temporally impaired is certainly one of the questions we’d begin the new season with.”
This could provide a huge ripple effect for the rest of the family.
Empire Season 4 will air on US TV network Fox, however British fans can expect the new series to appear on 5Star, after it was moved from E4 after three seasons.
