SHILPA SHETTY is one of the world’s most famous Bollywood actors.
The 42-year-old – who rose to fame in the UK after appearing on Celebrity Big Brother in 2007 – is also a massive cricket fan.
She also once held part-ownership of one of the teams with her husband.
But does she still have a financial interest in the IPL?
Does Shipla Shetty still own the Rajasthan Royals?
In February 2009, Shetty and husband Raj Kundra became part-owners of the team after paying $15.4million (approx. £11m) for an 11.7 per cent stake.
Raj Kundra is a London-born businessman.
He is part of a real estate firm, Groupco Developers, that operates across the UK and India.
Kundra also has interests in steel and media companies in Europe and Dubai and has produced Bollywood films
The Royals had won the inaugural IPL the season before, but under Shetty and Kundra’s ownership they were unable to repeat that success.
Kundra was BANNED from owning the team in 2015.
Why was Raj Kundra banned from owning the Rajastan Royals?
In 2015, the Royals were banned for two years from the competition after the Lodha Panel inquiry into corruption.
The team, along with the Chennai Super Kings, were found guilty after an illegal betting and match-fixing probe.
After being questioned by police in regards with the spot-fixing case, Kundra admitted he had bet on his own team, losing huge amounts of money in the process.
The Supreme Court of India banned him from cricket matches for life.
The Royals are back in the competition this season.
Last July, Shetty said she has no plans to return to the IPL right now, with her son being her “priority”.
What is Shilpa Shetty’s Net worth ?
While an exact figure is not known, estimates put her net worth in the £10m to £15m range.
The actress and model made her Bollywood debut in 1993 and has made 51 films in an illustrious career.
However, Shetty has made just two films since 2008 and has been more focused on family and motherhood.
Shetty, who judged Indian reality show Super Dancer last year. would likely command more than £1m for a new role.
Raj Kundra is also said to be worth more than £70million with all his business interests.
