Fyre Festival scammer Billy McFarland is at it again — but this time, the government of the Bahamas wants nothing to do with him, calling him a ‘fugitive.’

After serving 4 of the 6 years he was sentenced to on fraud charges, McFarland was released in September and quickly began working on a new ‘event’: a supposed treasure hunt in the Bahamas. In true Fyre Festival style, a promotional video for the treasure hunt is full of models in bikinis, jet skis, and beach pigs.

But 3 weeks after the event’s announcement, it has already hit its first major issue. According to a letter obtained by TMZ, the deputy prime minister of the Bahamas, Chester Cooper, said the country will not ‘endorse or approve any event in The Bahamas associated with [McFarland].’ Cooper went on to call him a ‘fugitive.’

Despite the setback McFarland is pressing on with his project PYRT!

McFarland became infamous in 2017, when his purportedly luxury music festival in the Bahamas, Fyre Festival, left attendees stranded without adequate housing, food, or entertainment. He pleaded guilty in May 2018 to using fake documents to get investors to put more than $26M into his business.

I’m not sure that Billy has been rehabilitated but I’m cheering for him. I think he should do Fyre Festival (the remix) I’m sure he’s learned a ton from his mistakes. Make it happen Billy!!

Mcfarlin is a vessel to believe in dreams though. His only problem is He needs a power house trustworthy business operator. His super power is to tap into shared vision, and marketing. I believe he could do big things one day, but he needs a solid well known and trustworthy partner who would make sure the business works and is honest.
