For a work bag I would AVOID truly light colours (cream Chanel bag, I’m looking at you) like the plague. NOTHING spoils an elegant look like a cream bag with dirt/sweat/grime/ink stains. This is a work bag we are talking about… Commuting, containing pens that may not always have their lids or have been clicked closed, stopping by the grocers/deli after work, picking up the kids from afterschool care (those grubby little hands could land on cream work bag at any moment), etc.
Instead, opt for a grey (wide array of shades) or a darker beige. MUCH more forgiving for day to day use as a work bag and yet still goes with light coloured summer outfits.
