TRUMP OFFICIAL EXPLAINS WHY KANYE WEST WASN’T ASKED TO PERFORM AT THE INAUGURATION
Apparently, he’s not “traditionally American” enough.

It appears Kanye West’s budding relationship with Donald Trump wasn’t quite enough to get him an invite to perform at the president-elect’s inauguration.

Despite previous reports that Trump was having some trouble finding entertainment for the event, the chairman of his Presidential Inaugural Committee revealed in an interview with CNN on Tuesday that Kanye was not asked to perform because “it’s not the venue.” He also went on to suggest that Kanye’s music isn’t “traditionally American” enough for the event, despite the fact that hip hop was born in the United States.

“We haven’t asked him,” Tom Barrack told CNN’s Erin Burnett. “He considers himself a friend of the president-elect, but it’s not the venue.”

“The venue we have for entertainment is filled out, it’s perfect, it’s going to be typically and traditionally American, and Kanye is a great guy but we just haven’t asked him to perform,” he continued.

A source close to the rapper confirmed to People on Wednesday that “Trump’s people never even asked” Kanye to perform at the event, despite Barrack previously claiming “Donald is a great admirer of Kanye.” Meanwhile, multiple sources report that Kanye has no plans to attend the inauguration at this time
