You kidding me! Is this Africa? 🧨🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🤩😎

This pic doesn’t even remotely do it justice.
‘the Singapore of Africa’ moniker is more than merited.

It’s the cleanest streets, roads, highways etc that I have ever seen including Malibu . Like scrupulously clean and, bizarrely, limited bins available.

They’ve disincentivized thrash at every level, and it begins from border control. Plastics are essentially a controlled substance, banned from luggages, and limited at retail outlets where you have to pay extra for takeaways and shopping bags don’t exist.

But the crazier aspect is the safety. En route to my hotel from the airport, I saw women and children, some unattended, sauntering on public roads past 11 pm.

There are armed guards on practically every street corner, although there are no checkpoints like in Nigeria. You get the elevated security architecture without the feeling of being in a warzone.

They are sticklers for patting you down and checking your belongings, including your takeaway lol, before entering into hotels and other public spaces. It’s annoying but fosters a mesmeric sense of safety among locals that women often walk back home from work by 2 am in the morning without so much as a care in the world.

Suffice to say…If you haven’t been yet Kigali is a Must Visit!
