Last night, Emma Watson paid tribute to her own Disney princess when she donned a yellow Dior Haute Couture gown fit for Belle. The dress was a fitting look for the evening, as she read parts of Beauty and the Beast aloud to children at the New York Film Society Kids program.

Though the actress stunned in the golden frock, she had a hand in the design process as well. “I spoke with Emma and we decided together to move this way, because it’s for her film and it’s very close with the story,” Dior creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri explains in a new video.

The result is a sunny yellow sleeveless dress made from organza and Eco-age fabric, aligning with Watson’s dedication to wear sustainable fashion.

The number also features a subtle cowl neckline and more volume in the back of the dress, right underneath straps that delicately crisscross above the hips.

Watson frequently wears Dior looks for red carpet events, and her affinity towards the brand is mutual. “Emma is very important for the new generation of women,” Chiuri added. “She’s a good example. I really respect [her a lot].”
