A few nights ago, Jennifer Lawrence took over hosting duties on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Good for her, especially since her main event guest was Kim Kardashian, someone Lawrence has been a sincere fan of for over a decade. The two got down to business immediately, discussing the rest of the Kardashian clan, how to unlock Kanye West’s phone, and, of course, farting.

While the two are firm friends, Lawrence does well in her official hosting capacity, too. Decidedly better than the last time she hosted something, anyway (the sink’s not braced!!!!). Her questions are pointed and brave; I’m especially a fan of “If you were gonna kill a kid, what kid would it be?” Let this be the journalistic standard all late-night hosts are held to henceforth. Jennifer Lawrence just clowned you all on day one, nerds.
