Change and growth go hand-in-hand. A leader who is not growing is not going anywhere … he/she stays the same, stagnates, plateaus. As a leader, you must employ all of your ability to overcome the resistance of the status quo.
“Most of us plateau when we lose the tension between where we are and where we ought to be.” – John Gardiner
Change happens at a dizzying pace. It is no longer just a prerequisite for growth, but a necessity for survival. Alvin Toffler said, “The illiterate of the twenty-first century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn.”
Leaders cannot merely cope with change, they must welcome and embrace it. We, like a muscle in weight training, only benefit from the resistance we embrace. Embracing the resistance stimulates the growth.
Remember, when you grow through what you go through, you create breakthrough to a new level!
