When Adele released tickets for her world tour and you didn’t manage to get any because they sold out in approximately 42.019 seconds, and then you stillweren’t able to get some when she released four more UK dates for gigs this summer, you probably thought you’d just wait another couple of years to see her pour out her heart and soul on stage.
As much as it pains us to say it – you’ve probably missed the boat. Sorry.
The 28 year-old singer-songwriter performed for the final night of her world tour in New Zealand this weekend, and during her final moments on stage she admitted that she doesn’t think she’ll be doing a tour again. Like, ever.
She told the crowd of more than 40,000 people: ‘Touring isn’t something I’m good at… applause makes me feel a bit vulnerable. I don’t know if I will ever tour again. The only reason I’ve toured is you. I’m not sure if touring is my bag.’
Adele has been on an absolutely gigantic 15-month tour, so we’re not really surprised if she wants a break. But not a forever break, please, Adele. Who else would perform in heavy rain wearing a waterproof pink poncho, or shut down security staff mid-gig so that her fans could dance? NO ONE.
However, she admitted that the tour has been the ‘greatest accomplishment in [her] career,’ before bursting into tears saying, ‘It’s changed my life. I understand why I do it.’
Adele recently let slip that she secretly married her partner, Simon Konecki, so it’s understandable if she wants to spend some quality time with her family now that the tour is over.
And suddenly that £300 price tag for an Ebay ticket to her last show this summer doesn’t seem so outrageous…
