Surprisingly, two years afterward, they exchanged their marital vows, and within another couple of years, they were blessed with their first child, a son they named Maddox Ali Lavon. Their family then expanded with the presence of their daughter, Melia Iman.
The evolution of her brief American escapade into a life-long journey was disclosed by Chelsea on the most fitting platform — Instagram. “Roughly two years ago, my plans were limited to a brief sojourn to Los Angeles. However, love happened, and I ended up staying. It has proven to be the best choice I’ve ever made,” she shared, appending a professional photo alongside.
The year 2017 saw Chelsea attaining her real estate license. As an ardent fan of Selling Sunset, she relied on her husband’s acquaintance with Jason from the Oppenheim Group to help secure a position there.
“I was introduced to Jason via Jeff and I wondered, “What’s the next step?” The proceedings unfolded as seen on screen. I was in a state of uncertainty if I’d be taken on board,” she narrated to Vogue.
On the whole, the situation unraveled smoothly, with Jeff’s intervention not only facilitating a career switch and a reality show for Chelsea but also providing her with a platform to be a role model for other Black women in the profession.
Who are Chelsea Lazkani ‘s parents ?
Her mother Elizabeth has worked as Chief People Officer at Emerson and her father, Segun Adefioye, is an accomplished architect and property developer. Chelsea’s mother has worked at Emerson since late 2021. Emerson Electric Co. is an American multinational corporation and is a Fortune 500 company with approximately 83,500 employees. It has reported revenue of over $16billion.
As well as this role, Elizabeth works on the board of directors for a charity in Chicago. Before this she was the Chief Human Resources Officer at food company, Ingredion. She has also worked in high-profile HR roles for companies such as Medtronic International Europe and Johnson & Johnson.
Her LinkedIn states that she was once featured in a list called “The Most Powerful Black Women in Corporate America”- so Chelsea was very accurate with her description of her mother.
Elizabeth has had an extremely impressive education, too. According to her LinkedIn, she got a degree in Chemistry from Lagos State University before studying for a post-grad diploma in Business Administration and Management in Glasgow. Elizabeth also received a post-graduate in Human Resources Management from The University of Westminster.
