In June 2023 The Sun reported that Romanian cops believe Andrew Tate is worth around £10million – though he has previously boasted of being a “trillionaire”.
Romanian police listed the disgraced influencer’s luxurious assets as they announced Tate and his brother Tristan had been charged as part of an ongoing sex trafficking investigation.
The brothers had been being probed by Romania’s organised crime-busting police unit – DIICOT – since their arrest in December 2022.
They now face trial over allegations of trafficking and rape, allegations which they strongly deny.
There are also ongoing investigations into alleged money laundering linked to the Tates as police continue to probe their finances.
How did Andrew Tate make his money?
Tate, who was born in the US but came to live in Britain at just four years old, was presumed to have made most of his wealth from his main business venture, Hustler University.
He started his career as a kickboxer in Luton, winning multiple world titles and his website says that he has worked as a commentator for Real Xtreme Fighting, the largest MMA promotion in Romania.
Tate claims to have made more money investing in cryptocurrency and opening a chain of casinos with his brother Tristan.
The online star would often share pictures of flash cars, expensive properties, cigars and private jets on his Instagram but this appears to have all been crafted to appeal to his followers and promote his brand.
Tate’s lawyers have even claimed he plays a “character” online for the purposes of entertainment.
Past pictures showed that Andrew and his brother’s car collection included a Lamborghini, an Aston Martin, a Ferrari, and a Rolls Royce.
In a podcast interview just before his arrest, however, Tate denied owning any of his cars, saying: “I don’t own anything. There are cars [that I may have access to].”

Tate ran a webcamming business from his compound in Romania, alongside subscription service Hustler’s University, which was said to teach customers how to make money.

On June 20, 2023, Tate was charged with human trafficking, rape and forming an organised crime group to sexually exploit women.
His brother and two Romanian female suspects were also formally charged.
The indictment says the four defendants formed an organised criminal group in 2021 for human trafficking in Romania.
Prosecutors allege seven female victims were recruited by Tate through false promises of marriage or a relationship, known as the “loverboy method”.
Under Romanian law, trafficking of adults carries a prison sentence of up to 10 years.
Prosecutors ordered for 15 buildings, 15 supercars and other assets such as flash watches to be seized – as well as a cryptocurrency fortune.
