Obama is still on Vacation
Former President Barack Obama is spending a month in French Polynesia, according to Agence France-Presse, citing a local Tahitian news channel.
His first stop was Tahiti before going on to Marlon Brando’s privately owned retreat, Tetiaroa atoll. The island, which the actor bought in the 1960s, is home to the eco-friendly Brando resort, which has private villas costing up to $2,150 a night, the news agency reports.
Michelle, Malia and Sasha aren’t on the trip, and it’s unclear whether or not they will join him later on.
So far, the former POTUS seems to be fully enjoying his time away from the White House. Last month, he and Michelle vacationed in the Caribbean, where Obama did some kitesurfing with Virgin’s Richard Branson.
Then, the Obamas stopped back into the States for visits to New York and DC.
There have been no official announcements about political meetings for this latest trip. But perhaps the Obamas are celebrating the news of their book deals with Penguin Random House, which were announced last month. It was reported that they drew huge advances for the books, and that the couple will donate a “significant portion” of their
author proceeds to charity.
