Kim’s 40th Birthday
What do you get the girl who has everything? A hologram of her late father, apparently. West delivered the hologram to Kim’s lavish 40th birthday party on a private island in October 2020, where guests got to watch the virtual recreation of Robert Kardashian Sr. (who died in 2003) tell Kim she’s married to “the most, most, most, most, most genius man in the whole world, Kanye West.” Kim tweeted a video of it, writing “Thank you so much Kanye for this memory that will last a lifetime.”
Christmas 2019
At the Vanity Fair Oscars 2020 afterparty, the couple showed off some of their extravagant Christmas gifts: outfits and jewelry they gifted to one another. Kanye wore a chain-link necklace Kim gave him, while Kim sported Alexander McQueen’s iconic “Oyster Dress,” which was called “arguably … the most important dress of the 21st century” by the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute curator Andrew Bolton (and incidentally, the Met has the only other version of the gown ever made in its archives). West purchased it for her from LILY et Cie, a “luxury archive” for fashion based in Beverly Hills.

Kim shared a photo of her “thoughtful” gift from her husband: a custom necklace he had made out of a sentimental text message he had previously sent her. “If you look closely at my necklace, you can see it’s from a text Kanye sent me,” Kim wrote on Instagram, captioning a photo of one of her signature selfies featuring the gift. The original text read: “This is your life. Married with four kids. Get people out of jail. Cover of Vogue. Go to church every week with your family. Dreams come true.” Kim explained, “He took an amazing vintage Cartier gold plaque necklace and had it sketched out.” She added, “He’s always the most thoughtful when it comes to gifts ✨
Kim’s 39th Birthday
In addition to gifting Kim some “amazing bags”, Kanye donated $1 million to four different prison reform organizations close to Kim’s heart (including #cut50, where she is reading the law in an apprenticeship) for her birthday. “This makes my heart so happy!” Kim tweeted.

Little girls dream of having a princess-worthy wedding in a palace – Kim Kardashian had that fantasy, too … for her rehearsal dinner. She and West celebrated their impending nuptials with 600 (!) guests at the iconic Palace of Versailles, where they wore his-and-hers couture outfits, were serenaded by Lana Del Rey and capped the night off with a fireworks show. That was all before the Italian wedding, by the way.
His Proposal
When West decided it was time to put a ring on it in October 2013, he made sure popping The Question was a memorable event. The rapper proposed to Kardashian on her 33rd birthday with a presentation that put the best rom-coms to shame. He rented out AT&T Park in San Francisco, where a full orchestra and pyrotechnic display awaited the couple. “PLEEEASE MARRY MEEE!!!!” lit up the jumbotron as West happily fell to his knee. After the official ask, all of Kardashian’s family and friends came out from hiding in the dugouts, where West made sure they were able to witness the special moment.
