Lady Gaga has hit back at body-shaming critics following her Super Bowl performance at the weekend. The singer was inexplicably hit with a barrage of nasty tweets following the half-time show, accusing her of showing off her “belly fat.”
Naturally, the 30-year-old chose not to keep quiet.
“I heard my body is a topic of conversation so I wanted to say, I’m proud of my body and you should be proud of yours too,” she wrote on Instagram. “No matter who you are or what you do. I could give you a million reasons why you don’t need to cater to anyone or anything to succeed.”
The singer also took the opportunity to thank her fans, her army of Little Monsters, who had been quick to jump to her defense on social media.
“Be you, and be relentlessly you,” she wrote. “That’s the stuff of champions. thank you so much everyone for supporting me. I love you guys.”
