Greetings esteemed colleagues and members of the Musculoskeletal Oncology society of Nigeria,
I am honored to extend this personal invitation to each and every one of you, to join me, Pinky Prof, at the 2024 Annual General Meeting Scientific Conference of the Musculoskeletal Oncology society of Nigeria. As a guest lecturer at this prestigious event, I am eager to engage with all of you in discussions surrounding; closing the ‘Care Gap’, boosting advocacy for better awareness & control of musculoskeletal cancer.
The field of musculoskeletal oncology is one that is dear to my heart, as I have encountered patients who never even knew the musculoskeletal system can be affected by cancer, & therefore presented late for their management, with poor outcomes! I am thus dedicated for my NGO, BWS, through it’s NYSC BWS CDS advocacy services, to include creating awareness of the existence, risk limiting measures, and advantage to subsequent medical management of early detection!!. It is indeed, a field that requires a multidisciplinary approach, so I will be calling for us all to work together, to provide the best possible control/care for patients facing these devastating diseases.
The theme of this year’s conference, musculoskeletal cancer advocacy, is thus instructive & timely, as it speaks to the importance of raising awareness and understanding of these rare and complex diseases. As advocates for our patients, it is our duty to ensure they have access to the best possible care and support systems. This conference will provide us with a platform to share our knowledge and experiences, and to learn from one another as we work towards improving outcomes for those affected by musculoskeletal cancers.
I cannot stress enough the importance of coming together as a community to tackle the challenges of musculoskeletal oncology. By sharing our expertise and collaborating on research and treatment strategies, we can make a real difference in the lives of our patients. This conference will offer a unique opportunity to network with colleagues from across the country, to exchange ideas and best practices, and to further our collective understanding of these complex diseases.
These imperatives, are why, as the first guest lecturer, I will be committed to delivering a thought-provoking and informative presentation that will stimulate discussion and inspire action, & set the stage for profound deliverables. My hope is that my lecture will serve as a catalyst for continued dialogue and collaboration among all attendees, as we strive to advance the field of musculoskeletal oncology in Nigeria and beyond.
In conclusion, I urge each and every one of you to mark your calendars and make plans to attend the 2024 Annual General Meeting Scientific Conference of the Musculoskeletal Oncology society of Nigeria on the 19th of September via Zoom. This event promises to be a truly enlightening and enriching experience, offering valuable insights and opportunities for professional growth.
