Get to know France’s first couple

Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron’s relationship has been under public scrutiny since the election (and perhaps even before) for its unconventional nature: he is 25 years younger than her, and she used to be his drama teacher. Macron cited misogyny for such views. “There is a big problem with the presentation of society and how they see the place of a woman,” he said when addressing the public’s obsession with Trogneux’s age.
