Asking price: $1.1 million. This 14th century castle was open to the public for guided tours up until 2000, now you can only see it if you buy it.

Asking price $1.7million. South of the Lake District this 14th century castle has been converted to apartments so sadly you will only be buying the library wing. But you will still have four bedrooms and a private terrace, which is great for the price.

10. Southern Castle, Asheville North Carolina
Asking price $10.7million. If your not in the mood to renovate a really old castle then this ones for you. Built in 2006, it comes with a massive indoor pool, a home cinema and a wine tasting room.

14. Castle Valer, Tassulo Italy
Asking price: subject to offers. Owned by the same family since the 14th century. It's a 15 bedroom castle in the foothills of the Italian alps. It's currently being auctioned by concierge auctions.
15. Villa Kampffmeyer Potsdam Germany
Asking price: upon request. This 1920s baroque inspired castle is located on the water in a UNESCO world heritage site just outside of Berlin.
