Hardly any other manufacturer builds such exclusive and fast sports cars as Pagani. Before Horacio Pagani founded his own factory in San Cesario near Modena in 1992, the Italian was employed as a production specialist at Lamborghini and Ferrari. The first super sports car from the house of Pagani Automobili was called the Zonda and was produced from 1999 to 2011. Individual pieces of this model followed again and again until 2015. Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton is also said to have a Pagani in his private garage. The successor model to the Zonda bears the sonorous name Huayra. A Pagani is not cheap. Interested parties have to budget around 1.2 million euros for a Huayra. The Italian exotics are powered by V12 engines from Germany: they come from AMG.
A Pagani is also always a work of art. A single Pagani takes a full month to be assembled and each one is a masterpiece. Only 100 Pagani Huayras were built and the race track versions BC and BC Roadster are limited to 20 and 40 units respectively. The Huayra was crowned to be the Hypercar of the Year 2012 by Top Gear. With a Mercedes-Benz AMG engine and active aerodynamic components the Huayra puts out 730 PS with a top speed of 383 km/h. The purchase of a Pagani is not only a decision for a true piece of art, but also for a collectible supercar sporting the most advanced technology.
