GREEN WILL BE THE COLOR OF SPRING 2023
BYRNE WATCH PRESENTS a limited series of 23 pieces : the GyroDial INDOARABE

A watch that would change its dial every day?

BYRNE was born from the mind of a passionate person who created a watch with multiple faces:
the Byrne GyroDial.

Every night at midnight, fluid and fast,
the four indexes at 3, 6, 9 and 12 o’clock transform and change face.
Roman numerals, Arabic numerals – or any other character, symbol or design on custom order – can appear on the dial.

3 years of research and development in Fleurier, Switzerland
were necessary to give birth to this patented animation complication.

The Byrne GyroDial offers its wearer the feeling of a different watch every day, or even changing its face in an instant. This is the explanation of its motto
“Change your mind in a flash”.

In the spring of 2023, BYRNE is offering an exclusive limited series with Indo-Arabic numerals on a hypnotic green dial with multiple reflections:
the GyroDial Indoarabic

One watch, four appearances. Thanks to its custom-made movement, Byrne has invented the evolving watch. Every evening at midnight, or on request, the four main indexes on the GyroDial dial change. Arabic numerals, Roman numerals, character or design, they are carried by rotating cubes, with instantaneous jump, which are flush with the dial. As a bonus, Byrne offers the possibility to customize the faces of these cubes, as well as the case material. The case, like the caliber 5555, was entirely designed, developed and manufactured in Switzerland for the Gyro Dial.

With its long, supple curves made of titanium, the dial with its hand-stretched finish presents a contemporary and very racy aesthetic.

A unique dial

To celebrate the year 2023, Byrne is launching a new watch: the GyroDial Indoarabe in a 311 case, with a “drawn line” dial, green rhodium plating with unique blue, turquoise, and sometimes slightly purple highlights. Some retailers who discovered this piece in preview, even evoke the Indian Ocean. This is a handmade sandblasting and satin-finishing of the dial – a true trademark of Byrne Watch – underneath the rhodium plating, the final step that gives the brand’s timepieces their distinctive look. The return of the general public and connoisseurs is therefore highly anticipated.

It is indeed this work done on the raw base of the dial with “drawn lines”, sandblasted, with pierced minute track, before the addition of rhodium plating that brings these so unique and varied nuances. This green version was astonishing. The dial is simply mesmerizing.
“It’s impossible to know the exact color we’ll get until the rhodium plating stage at the end of the process,” says John Byrne, co-founder and watchmaker of the Maison. We attach immense importance to our dials, which are never painted, only rhodium-plated. They bring a singular design to our watches with this contemporary, raw look that we particularly appreciate.”

Origin:

Each year Byrne will release a limited edition referring to the current year: 2023 is thus associated with this limited edition of 23 pieces.
John Byrne works on a whim, he wanted to bring a bright color to his collection. For him, green represented the Indo-Arab world with a fascination for the design that the characters from this culture represent, both aesthetically and graphically. The latter are extremely refined and highly stylized. The GyroDial thus honors them in a singular way.
As with every Byrne watch, the winder displays the major character of the model, and the “green edition” is engraved with the Arabic numeral zero.
Moreover, a philosophical approach also emerges from this edition, since it represents for the two founders of the brand, a true meeting of several worlds that do not necessarily meet in everyday life, the East and the West … bringing together two civilizations.

2024 will undoubtedly bring us new surprises, this time in 24 pieces. The House’s desire is to continue to explore new dials, in order to offer not only several faces to the piece, but also several colors.
