Creating content that actually grows your business, can be overwhelming at times! And if the thought of creating content for the next year fills you with dread… Then you’re going to want to read on to learn where you’ll get our favorite Content Hacks to save time and grow your online business.
Who are you speaking to?
You are an online content creator
entrepreneur and you are building a business. And if you are new to content creation , you may not understand the concept.
Understanding who you are speaking to is very important. You need to know that not everybody is looking for your product.
You need to understand who your ideal client is, where these people hang out, what they dream about, and what they struggle with.
So that your content responds to their problems and dreams.
And if you’ve ever read a post or listened to a live show where you thought, “This person is in my head, and he/she understands exactly what I’m going through, and knows where I want to be”. It’s because these people understand who you are. They understand what you are struggling with right now. They understand what your hopes and dreams are. They always understand what it feels like, to be you.
And that’s why, when you create content, it should not only talk about those struggles, but also about the things that you’re passionate about, about your desires. You need to describe a problem, share some hopes and dreams, and then provide a solution to this problem.
And if you share the struggles, and if you share YOUR journey, then you’re not only sharing and understanding the problems, but also leading the person to hope and dream.
Your Content Is Not About You
The content you create, although it shares your story, is not really about you, but it appeals to your ideal potential customers.
It appeals to your ideal clients and serves them where they are. And when you share your story, when you become vulnerable, share the struggle, share something you’ve been through, don’t leave the person struggling, but give them hope. Show them, that there is a way out of what they’re going through right now.
Your content is really about your audience, and serving them. Inspire them, motivate them, educate them, and entertain them.
Stop Overcomplicating Content Creation
Stop over complicating the content creation. Some people like to look at stories, some people like to watch Reels, some people watch long evergreen content on YouTube, Facebook or IGTV. Some people are on TikTok or YouTube.
When you’re creating something, when you come up with an idea for a piece of content, you can use that one piece, one idea in different places:
1. in a story,
2. in a Reel,
3. in an Image Post,
4. in a Live on IG or FB,
5. in a long format YouTube training.
If you are on Instagram, for example, you can take that Instagram Live, cut/edit it and repurpose it into a Reel, a short video, into several stories and write a blog post about it.
Don’t overthink your content creation and just repurpose this one same piece of content/idea multiple ways. And then your content is done for the week.
Stop Overthinking Content Creation
And again, stop overthinking your content creation. People do not remember what you posted a month ago, or six months ago.
If you are following our advice and consistently growing an audience of people who are actively looking, searching for your solutions and help; if you are constantly growing your audience, you are always getting new eyes on your content.
And therefore, anything that you posted 3 months ago, if you repost it again, the people who’ve seen it, probably will not remember. New people do not scroll back months, they may scroll back a couple of posts, maximum 10 posts down your feed, so they will never see it. That means that you can repurpose your old content. If you created a good piece of content that is getting a lot of engagement, or it had got a lot of engagement 3 months ago, you can repurpose it again and again, and again. A great way to come up with new posts, if you’ve run out of ideas, is have a look at the memories.
Facebook gives you memories every single day. Instagram also has it.
So have a look at your memories. And if there’s a good post, don’t share it as a memory, but take that post and repurpose/repost it as a NEW post. You can change it up slightly. You can put a new picture with it, and it looks like a brand new post, and nobody will ever know.
Always Save Your Ideas
Bonus tip is save every single idea that comes into your head.
If you see an idea, if you are reading a book, if you’re watching a movie, if you see a post that speaks to you, it’ll speak to your perfect prospects. So save the ideas, never copy-paste from somebody else, but save the idea and model mimic, and make it your own way.
I use Google Drive, and I have folders in my Google Drive for all my different buckets of content that I create.
Buckets of content are content ideas to help you create varied content throughout the week.
One might be around being an entrepreneur, another one might be around your company, your products. One might be about lifestyle. The next bucket might be inspiration, another bucket might be things that you love, that you’re passionate about. It might be cooking, gardening, dancing, your family, hobbies, or faith.
And instead of talking only about your products, create curiosity around the BENEFITS of your products, and in that niche.
So, for example, if you’re in health and wellness, give health and wellness tips, give advice, educate people in your niche, as well as create curiosity around your products.
But as you come up with ideas, save those ideas to your Google Drive, so you have a never ending folder, folder of ideas of content that you can always draw from to a post, and to keep your audience educated, entertained, inspired, and to create curiosity around your products and to get people working with you.
