The most beautiful dairy shop in the world @pfunds_molkerei, and it’s true. In fact, I would go as far as saying it’s the most beautiful shop in the world, I’ve never come across anything like it!
The store was founded in 1880 and opened in 1892, boasting 247.9 m² of hand-painted tiles from @villeroyboch. If you don’t fancy cheese or milk, they also sell natural hand-made soaps, and the Pfunds store also stocks items that are vegan and gluten-free.
The idea for the milk store was dreamt up during the time of rapid industrialisation in Dresden, a boom in population caused hygiene difficulties and an increase in the need for agricultural products. Much of the mill in Dresden would arrive sour, contaminated, or watered down. Paul Pfund wanted to create a change so founded a dairy milk sanatorium in the city. Pfund’s business was a hit and he was the first in Germany to produce condensed milk, and developed baby food with breast milk quality and milk soap for sensitive skin 🛁
Today we can enjoy this history and still these wonderful high-quality products in the most beautiful surrounding ❤️
