The truth season is season five of Netflix was a let down aside from Diana scenes and Alfayed scenes the rest of it was scented like a puff piece for the Royal Family.

In a nutshell:
The final season of The Crown will take the series from the ’90s to the early 2000s. The events of that decade were initially planned as one season (Season 5 was due to be the last), but will now span two to allow for greater detail.

Who will play Princess Diana in Season 6 of The Crown?
Elizabeth Debicki will take over the role of Diana, Princess of Wales from Emma Corrin in Seasons 5 and 6 of The Crown. “Princess Diana’s spirit, her words and her actions live in the hearts of so many. It is my true privilege and honor to be joining this masterful series, which has had me absolutely hooked from episode one,” the 32-year-old Australian actress said in a statement via Netflix.

Who will play Prince Charles in Season 6 of The Crown?
Following his performances in the BBC’s The Pursuit of Love and the latest Downton Abbey movie, Dominic West will star opposite Elizabeth Debicki as Prince Charles in Seasons 5 and 6, taking over the role from Josh O’Connor.

Who will play Prince William, Prince Harry and Kate Middleton in The Crown Season 6?
On September 2, Deadline broke the news that, following an exhaustive casting process, The Crown had cast the roles of Prince William and Kate Middleton for Season 6. Two actors will play the former as he matures from a teenager to a young university student: Rufus Kampa will embody him at 15 as he struggles to cope with the death of his mother, Diana; and Ed McVey will depict his years as a young adult, when he courted the future Duchess of Cambridge after meeting her at St. Andrews in 2001. Meanwhile, newcomer Meg Bellamy will play Middleton. The series will mark the screen debuts of all three actors. The part of a slightly older Prince Harry, however, has not yet been filled for Season 6. Early images from the set of the final installment show Will Powell, who plays a younger Prince Harry in Season 5, acting in scenes alongside Debicki and Kampa.

Who else will star in The Crown Season 6?
Imelda Staunton—best known for playing Dolores Umbridge in the Harry Potter films as well as her Oscar-nominated role in Vera Drake—will succeed Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II for Season 5 and Season 6. “I have loved watching The Crown from the very start,” Staunton said in a statement when the news was announced. “As an actor it was a joy to see how both Claire Foy and Olivia Colman brought something special and unique to Peter Morgan’s scripts. I am genuinely honored to be joining such an exceptional creative team and to be taking The Crown to its conclusion.”
Lesley Manville will step into the role of Princess Margaret—following Helena Bonham Carter and Vanessa Kirby’s turns as George VI’s younger daughter—for Seasons 5 and 6. “I could not be happier to be playing Princess Margaret,” Manville shared via Netflix. “The baton is being passed on from two formidable actresses and I really don’t want to let the side down. Furthermore to play siblings with my dear friend Imelda Staunton will be nothing short of a complete joy.”
As for Prince Philip? The Two Popes’s Jonathan Pryce will be the final actor to step into the Duke of Edinburgh’s shoes in The Crown for Seasons 5 and 6.

What years will Season 6 of The Crown cover?
According to Deadline, Season 6 will take the story of the British monarchy from the latter half of the 1990s to the early 2000s. To date, each installment of The Crown has spanned approximately a decade, but the events of the ’90s have been divided between Seasons 5 and 6.
Will The Crown Season 6 cover the death of Princess Diana?
Yes. On October 12, Deadline reported that the cast and crew of The Crown were gearing up to film scenes that showed the run-up to Princess Diana’s death, alongside her boyfriend Dodi Fayed, in a car crash in Paris on August 31, 1997. The show’s creator, Peter Morgan, has made it clear that the crash itself will not be shown on screen. Instead, we’re likely to see “the car leaving The Ritz after midnight with paparazzi in pursuit and then the aftermath with the British Ambassador to France swinging into action with the Foreign Office and then the subsequent constitutional aftermath,” according to a source on the production. “We’ve been dreading getting to this point,” they added of the shoot. “While we’re calmly carrying on, it’s fair to acknowledge that there’s a certain anxiety—a palpable sense of being slightly on edge. I mean, there’s bombshell sensitivity surrounding this one.” Also set to be depicted? Prince Charles arriving on a royal flight to bring Diana’s body home to London, and Mohamed Al-Fayed experiencing casual racism from the French authorities when taking possession of his son’s casket.

On November 1, more photos emerged from the set, this time showing Debicki in an animal print swimsuit that is an almost exact replica of one Princess Diana donned while holidaying with Dodi Fayed in the Mediterranean just weeks before her death. It suggests that Diana’s whirlwind final summer will also be a particular focus of Season 6.
