Why do people produce utter rubbish! The trailer is always so catchy but alas the truth is another story.

One huge thing that’s becoming blatantly obvious with these franchise films/TV shows is that the people who write and produce them don’t have much real-world experience of a lot of the things they’re putting in their product. Soooo many flaws & inconsistencies.

Angela and Lupita were not enough to save this movie. Nor was the brilliant VFX, Nor was the curiously avatar copycat like blue people in water.

Ah, yes. “Wakanda Forever.” The battle cry of a nation, the rallying cry of a people. A phrase that conjures up images of strength, power, and unity. But let us not be fooled by the glittering façade of this phrase, my dear readers. For beneath the surface lies a hot mess of a concept, rife with contradictions, inconsistencies, and hypocrisy.

Let us first examine the origins of this phrase. “Wakanda Forever” is, of course, a reference to the fictional African nation of Wakanda, which was introduced to the world via the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film “Black Panther” was lauded for its groundbreaking representation of Black culture and its celebration of African identity. And yet, it is this very celebration that undermines the very message it seeks to convey.

For what is Wakanda, but a fictional utopia, created by a white man for the consumption of a white audience? It is a world where the African continent is isolated from the rest of the world, shielded from the ravages of colonialism and imperialism. It is a world where the Black Panther, a rich and powerful monarch, reigns supreme, dispensing justice and dispensing with his enemies. It is a world where technology and tradition are blended seamlessly, creating a utopia that exists only in the minds of its creators.

But let us not forget the true message of “Wakanda Forever.” It is a call to arms, a battle cry for Black empowerment and unity. And yet, what does it actually achieve? The phrase itself is a hollow gesture, a meaningless slogan that serves only to obscure the true struggles of the Black community. It is a phrase that is co-opted by corporations, commodified and sold back to us in the form of merchandise and branding.

In essence, “Wakanda Forever” is a hot mess of a concept. It is a contradiction, a celebration of a fictional utopia that undermines the very message it seeks to convey. It is a hollow gesture, a meaningless slogan that serves only to obscure the true struggles of the Black community. So let us abandon this phrase, this empty symbol of a world that never was. Let us instead focus on the real struggles of the Black community, the struggles that exist in the real world, and work to create a better, more just society for all.

In the words of William Golding’s “Lord of the Flies,” “The world, that understandable and lawful world, was slipping away.” Let us not slip away into a fictional world of our own creation. Let us instead face the harsh realities of our world, and work to create a better tomorrow.
