If you’re not a member, don’t go this week🚨 @clubwestside Holiday Ride on their Lazy River! This ride is so worth it, & I’m glad we braved the long line to get in! I saw a post about this ride being open to the public this week, so we went yesterday.
Our experience: we arrived at @clubwestside at 5pm. If Google Maps takes to you the back, don’t listen to it. The entrance is on Wilcrest. It will be obvious because there will be a long line of cars driving in. The parking lot is huge, but so is the crowd. I think if we got there after 5:30pm we’d be circling the lot for a spot to open.
We got in the ticket line around 5:10pm & stood near the indoor playground area. The line moved as they let people queue in the tent leading up to the boats, so we ended up around the corner from the ticket booth, & that’s were we waited for ~50min.
There are a lot of things to do & see while there, so you can have 1 person from your group wait in line while the rest can roam. The line starts moving at 6pm when the ride begins. We made it to the ticket booth at 6:18 ($60 per boat, up to 8 ppl in a boat), & we made it in the boat by 6:30. God bless the staff standing in the freezing water, giving the boats a little boost when needed.
We were out of the raft by 6:43, & the line was insane as we walked to the parking lot. The end of the line was in the lot & wrapped 10 cars down. One of the staff said it would be a 2hr+ wait from there. Plenty of cars were still driving in, & the line was even longer when we drove off.
Not sure about age limit, but my 3yo toddlers were able to ride, & they LOVED it. The staff is very helpful with getting in & out of the raft. Everyone working there was really nice. Be mindful when you’re in the Clubhouse, members are using the facilities while you’re there so be respectful of their space. Dress warmly, & have fun!
