The end of succession was bittersweet and tragic, and you can’t help but feel sorry for
Kendall.
I think Shiv was let off too easy. She was never working along with the family, she was a horrible wife, and she disregarded all her allies. Not saying her position at the end was great but I would have loved someone actually take a win over her (Besides Matsson).
Shiv returning to CEO Tom is her (unintentional) way of ensuring that the toxic Waystar cycle continues for her child….. cold mother, busy CEO daddy.
The only childhood she knows was under the Waystar shadow, so she’s falling back on that with her kid. Tom has changed into a different, slightly colder person, and a child born into a toxic family setting is exactly how Shiv and her brothers were raised. Can’t stand Shiv. Most disliked character of the show. I feel Shiv did Ken dirty. She wasn’t gonna be happy no matter what. Ken was CEO before. He was the best of the 3 at least.
Shiv kept doing Ken dirty I dont know why he continued to trust her time after time.
Kendall got hit way too hard for the decent person he is. He was always trying to unite the siblings and improve the family business, his actions always fell short but he was at least hopeful and willing to work together with a lot of people.
Roman reaped what he sowed, but as he had the least skin in the game, cannot say he got burned too badly. I think Roman was drinking a vodka martini with an olive (Gerri’s favorite drink).
Bittersweet imo because he knows he messed it all up but just reminiscing about it all.
The point when Roman made fun of the illegitimacy of Kendall’s kids and how Rava cheated on Kendall was so cruel, man.
It’s like the show want to remind us that, for all those crying and stuff, Roman is still a vile and spiteful person.
