Basically I just sat through another Netflix flop and boy, am I upset. “Obsession” was its name and boy did it leave a bad taste in my mouth. As a woman who enjoys the finer things in life, I can tell you that this show was not one of them – not by a long shot.
The whole premise of the show was about a father stealing his own son’s girl. Can you believe that? I mean, what kind of twisted mind comes up with something like that? It’s disgusting. Now, I’m no prude, but there’s something about a parent lusting after their offspring’s significant other that just doesn’t sit right with me. It’s downright creepy, and I was unable to find it sexy in any way, shape, or form. I get that the movie is a remake
But that’s not even the worst part. I was expecting some eye candy – after all, this is a Netflix sensational movie. But no. There was nothing. Nada. Zero. Zilch. I mean, come on – if you’re going to make a show about twisted love affairs, at least make it visually appealing. Is that too much to ask for?
In conclusion, “Obsession” was a complete waste of my time. I expect better from Netflix and its seemingly endless supply of original content. And to anyone who thinks that a father stealing his son’s girl is sexy – take a good, hard look in the mirror and think about what kind of person you really are. As for me, I’ll be sticking to my usual programming – something with a little more substance and a lot more eye candy.
