The Hublot Big Bang Unico Golf Watch achieves this, through a number of additions to the standard Big Bang UNICO movement design, in the form of the MHUB1580 caliber, utilizing a rubber faced pusher system and three counter windows to allow the wearer to record course hole number, shot number, and maintain a running ‘card’ total for the round. Hublot Watches Switzerland worked closely with world renowned golfer Dustin Johnson while developing the Hublot Big Bang Unico Golf Watch, and it shows, not least in the legibility of the skeletonized black dial, but also in its use of an amalgam of fiberglass, carbon fiber and aluminium known as Texalium for its main case, lug and other components, which means that the Hublot Big Bang Unico Golf Watch is also exceptionally lightweight, at only 98 grams. This is the type of weight more commonly associated with digital watches, but with the Hublot Big Bang Unico Golf Watch and the assistance of golf game legend Dustin Johnston, Hublot have been able to offer the player of the game an easy to read system of windows to display all the important information, all activated by easy to find pushers, in a package so light that the wearer will barely feel the 98 grams on their wrist, enough to make the Hublot mechanical golf watch a perfect fit for any golfer.

Hublot’s work with Dustin Johnson means that the Hublot Big Bang Unico Golf Watch is not only unique as the very first practical golf watch to be worn on the wrist, but also a in a form that is intuitive and easy to use, think designed for the golf glove, and easy to read, with the digital during a game of golf. On the right side of the watch case sit a putter shaped pusher at 2 and 4 o’clock with a Crown pusher in the form of a black rubber covered golf ball at the traditional 3 o’clock, and a further circular pusher at 8 o’clock. Pressing the yellow highlighted putter shaped pusher at 2 o’clock marked ‘shot’ adds a single shot to the shot counter window at 3, while pressing the white putter shaped ‘hole’ pusher at 4 o’clock resets the shot counter to zero and advances the hole counter digital window display at 9 o’clock by one hole, and advances the total number of strokes counter clock in the digital display window at 6 o’clock by one stroke.

The Hublot Big Bang Unico Golf Watch from Hublot Watches of Nyon, Switzerland is a luxury watch that is a little different to other watches from the brand famous for models such as the King Power, the Hublot Techframe Ferrari, Hublot Big Bang FIFA World Cup and other more mainstream pieces. Of course, it remains a Hublot Big Bang, and a Big Bang Unico at that, with all that that implies in terms of the quality of the movement and the other watch details that you might expect, the Big Bang Unico Golf featuring not one but two ‘One Click’ enabled straps, the first in white leather, as if designed for a golf glove, sewn on rubber, the other a technical fabric, but it is also a watch with a very specific complication. While the ability to keep a running score of strokes taken on each hole, the number of hole being played and the total number of strokes via the pusher system and outstandingly legible counter windows of the modified movement are great qualities, the golf complication is also a wonderful talking point, whether on the golf links or elsewhere. One can only wonder at the surprise and delight of fellow players of the game of golf, when a Hublot Big Bang Unico Golf Watch is brought into play during a game, unless of course, Dustin Johnson is playing that hole too.
