For over a year now a group of hackers have been hacking YouTubers accounts and turning them into Tesla or Ark Investing clone accounts and convincing people to send million of dollars in Bitcoin and Ethereum to them. YouTube is well aware of this problem and needs to do MUCH more to put an end to this. Just yesterday another YouTuber Tom Nash had his account hacked and turned into one of these shill accounts.

This has been going on forever… there are so many other ones like this. It’s so annoying, I have no idea why YouTube isn’t dealing with this they are super obvious.
I’ve legit reported over a hundred of these scams within the space of a couple of weeks and they still come back. Doing the same exact shit. It’s apparently been going on for two years. Twitch/YouTube NEED to do more!
The fact that I can find these hacked live streams more easily than YouTube means that they are somehow profiting from this or just don’t wanna hire one person to fix it.
it really hit home for me when Vlogging Through History posted that his 17 year old daughter’s gaming account was hit by this scam. It’s disheartening to hear that the effects were that drastic, that you could get locked out of your account, and your years of hard work are gone.
One noteworthy thing about the way in which they conduct these hacks is that they’re doing “Cookie Stealing” in some cases with software to bypass 2FA and enter your account. Despite my email address for business inquires being separate from the account managing my channel – they were able to compromise the appropriate account which indicates to me that they were able to grab the browser data and not just specific credentials.
Don’t get compromised educate and protect yourself from these leeches!
