This has all been on the cards for years now as the BRICS nations have been buying as much physical gold as they could for quite some period of time in preparation for the pending de-dollarisation. The problem for the US is in the fact that they have been playing at transparently obvious games globally that have been apparent to any switched on onlookers for some considerable period of time. Consequently, other nations, generally those outside of the general sphere of close US influence, have been planning and preparing for an extended period of rainy days.
Take a look at the Gold holdings of the various nations and understand that America is still number one with Germany in second place. As for Britain, well since it has been willfully and earnestly hobbling itself for the past 50 years it is pitiful that Britain can believe itself to be any kind of a serious contender for anything on the World stage with the pitiful pile of Gold that it now owns after having the biggest Empire in history.
Britain really has been making a rod for its own back in its stupidity in fully buying into the mindlessly stupid application of neo-liberal capitalism and the wholesale asset stripping of Britain. It was said that during WW1 that Britain was “Lions led by Donkeys”, however over the past recent decades one could argue that Britain is now more along the lines of the Lions are all gone as everyman and his dog bought into the braying nonsense that the Mules were selling.
