Bold yet elegant, the new Breguet Marine Chronograph 5527 watch features a 42.3mm wide Titanium case with an original design, embellished with the Breguet brand signature fluted case band. Lightweight, durable and hypoallergenic, Titanium is an ideal choice for a case material that can take on the elements and a novel alternative to steel and gold and has become a standard choice for the new Breguet Marine watches – including the chronograph watch.
The dial of the Breguet Marine Chronograph 5527 watch, made of gold as its base, is finished in a sunburst slate grey tone. The traditional Breguet design “apple” shape hands are revisited on the dial of the Marine Chronograph watch, with larger tips filled with SuperLuminova. The applied Roman numerals on the watch dial are given the same treatment to enhance legibility. The traditional tri-compax chronograph layout of the gold dial on the Breguet Marine Chronograph watch is given a whimsical twist, with its slightly overlapping minutes and hours counters, making the Breguet Marine Chronograph 5527 stand out from all other automatic chronograph watches.
With a clear view into its chronograph movement through the sapphire crystal display back, the Breguet Marine Chronograph 5527 watch is powered by the automatic in-house chronograph caliber 582QA, which offers a two-day power reserve when fully wound. Besides the integrated chronograph mechanism of the Breguet watch movement with central rotor for the automatic winding mechanism, the Breguet Marine Chronograph is fitted with an inverted in-line lever escapement with silicon pallet lever, as well as a silicon balance hairspring. The use of silicon further emphasizes the Breguet brand approach of producing timeless watches packed with the latest watch movement innovations to provide superlative chronometry.
As a nod to its nautical inspiration and the historical Breguet link to the maritime world, the automatic movement of the Breguet Marine Chronograph features a solid gold rotor made in the form of a ship’s wheel. Even with a sapphire display back, the Marine Chronograph boasts a water resistance of 10 bar/100 meters, which is impressive for an automatic chronograph watch that borders between sporty and elegant.
Fixed to the uniquely shaped angular lugs, the Breguet Marine Chronograph comes on a black textured rubber strap, which recalls the deck of a boat and is perfectly suited to the robust Titanium case.
