My Darling Chris,
Happy Father’s Day, my love.
This morning, as I reflected on the Father’s Day exhortation in Bethel, my heart was filled with gratitude to God for you. The message highlighted two fathers in Scripture whose lives quietly shaped destinies—Joseph, the earthly father of Jesus, and Manoah, the father of Samson. As I listened, I found myself thinking about you.
Joseph was not a man who sought attention. He was a man of prompt obedience, steadfastness, and quiet strength. Though he stood in the background, his faithfulness provided the environment for God’s purposes to unfold. In many ways, this reminds me of you. Through the years, you have carried responsibilities, made sacrifices, provided leadership, offered wisdom, and remained a steady pillar for our family. Much of what you have done may not always have been visible to others, but its impact is written in the lives of your children, grandchildren, and all those whom God has entrusted to your influence.
The message also spoke about Manoah, who responded with humility when God began to reveal His plans for his family. Rather than relying on his own understanding, he prayed, “Lord, teach us what to do.” Even after many years of experience, he remained teachable before God.
At 74, my darling Chris, I believe this is one of the greatest strengths I have seen in you. You have never stopped learning, growing, adapting, and seeking wisdom. You have carried many responsibilities over the years—as husband, father, grandfather, engineer, mentor, friend, and leader—but through it all, God’s hand has remained evident upon your life.
Today, I celebrate not only what you have accomplished, but who you are.
I celebrate your resilience.
I celebrate your commitment to family.
I celebrate your strength during difficult seasons.
I celebrate your wisdom, your counsel, your generosity, and your unwavering love.
I celebrate the legacy you are building through our children and grandchildren.
Most importantly, I celebrate the grace of God that has sustained you through the decades and brought you into this season of honor and fruitfulness.
My prayer for you today is that the God who fathers fathers will continue to guide you. May He give you fresh strength for every assignment that still lies ahead. May He continue to reveal His purposes to you and grant you divine wisdom that is profitable to direct.
May the Lord bless you as He blessed Joseph—with favor, trustworthiness, and a good name.
May the Lord bless you as He blessed Manoah—with wisdom for every season and clear direction concerning all that concerns your household.
May He continue to make you fruitful in old age.
May your latter years be filled with health, peace, joy, fulfillment, and divine purpose.
May your voice continue to carry wisdom.
May your hands continue to prosper.
May your heart continually overflow with gratitude.
May your children rise up and call you blessed.
May your grandchildren be a crown of rejoicing around you.
May the Lord preserve you, strengthen you, and satisfy you with long life.
May He reward every sacrifice you have made for your family and for others.
May He continually surround you with favor as with a shield.
May mercy speak for you in every situation.
May doors of unusual opportunities, influence, impact, and kingdom significance continue to open before you.
And when future generations tell the story of our family, may they remember you as a man who loved God, loved his family, served faithfully, and finished well.
Thank you for being my husband, my friend, my partner in life’s journey, and a wonderful father to our children, their spouses & grandfather to our grandchildren.
I love you deeply, appreciate you greatly, and thank God for you today and always.
