LA NOUVELLE COLLECTION DE SINGER REIMAGINED
Singer Reimagined watches are, by definition, a profound homage to the vintage design of iconic timepieces from the 60s and 70s, brought up to date and enhanced with functional optimizations and cutting-edge watchmaking engineering. The original idea behind the brand was to reinvent one of the most iconic watch movements of that particular era: the Automatic Chronograph. The first three iconic models were all launched in 1969: the Chronomatic, El Primero and Calibre 6139. 1969 will be remembered as a year rich in incredible stories and discoveries, imbued with events that had a real impact on world culture such as Woodstock, the moon landing, Abbey Road – the last Beatles album and the first Concord flight, to name but a few. A year that became iconic and significant for many reasons. So at Singer Reimagined, we decided to celebrate this fantastic year with a new range of watches named “1969”. A new collection designed as if it could have been created by Singer Reimagined precisely in that year!
TWO NEW MODELS IN THE SINGER 1969 COLLECTION
1969 Chronographe is the quintessence of Singer Reimagined’s vision of Haute Horlogerie, featuring the latest version of the famous Agengraphe caliber. It features a new time display for improved legibility, and the 60-hour chronograph function remains at the center of the dial. All this is condensed into just 40mm. 1969 Timer represents the ultimate example of complexity expressed in its purest form. A complex reset system combined with an in-flight return device make it the technical jewel hidden behind this “quiet” looking three-hand watch. A simple press of the button at 2 o’clock enables ultra-fast elapsed time measurements using the watch’s central second hand. A function that’s useful, fun and always ready to be triggered.
THE DESIGN
The design of this collection pays homage to the style of the era. A new case, smaller dimensions and revised displays are complemented by an all-new metal bracelet. Powerful elements that create an icon for both men and women. A new model combining comfort, strong personality and distinctive elegance.
THE WATCH CASE
The case size of the new Singer 1969 collection is 40mm. Its sober, harmonious design adapts to all wrists. An evolution in design based on ergonomic and functional considerations, the fruit of many in-depth studies. We chose stainless steel as the material for our case, for its solidity, precious finish and timeless classicism. Singer’s signature brushed surfaces and polished edges are meticulously crafted to create a true jewel. The case is adorned with a domed sapphire crystal, instantly giving the piece a purely retro look in keeping with classic watches. Mirror-polished edges magnify the energetic curves of the case, giving it dynamism and vivacity. A bold design reminiscent of the iconic chronographs of the 60s and 70s.
THE STAINLESS STEEL BRACELET
The stainless steel bracelet is composed of two contrasting elements. On the one hand, the brushed “H” links are modelled on the shape of the edges of racetracks, giving it a contrasting, dynamic effect. On the other hand, the rounded and polished central links provide soft reflections and flashes of light. This combination is designed to ensure exceptional portability and comfort. The brushed inclined facets are complemented by polished chamfers, like an extension of the case and its polished edges – a hallmark of the brand. Our new bracelet, with a drop from 22mm to 18 cm, adapts to all wrists thanks to a fine adjustment system housed in the folding clasp. The micro-adjustment mechanism, with 21 positions, enables the length of the bracelet to be precisely adjusted by up to 2cm, making it easy and customizable for both men’s and women’s wrists. The stainless steel clasp, engraved with the brand logo, features fine brushing on the top surface and mirror-polished edges. It opens with two push-pieces on the ribs of the cap.
DIALS
The dials, executed in a precious multi-layer black lacquer finish, are embellished with a signature gold flange, adding an unexpected and iconic detail to the sober, functional and minimalist design of the new collection. These elements are enhanced by a domed sapphire crystal, visually lifting the dial inside the watch.
THE MOVEMENTS
The AGH 6365 and AGH 6363 movements are redesigned versions of the Agengraphe and Flytrack calibers, with revised displays to enhance their functionality and fit their new 40mm case. Both movements are designed and produced to Singer’s unique specifications by Agenhor.
1969 40MM CHRONOGRAPH
The central dial displays chronographic information in pure Singer style. The seconds, jumping minutes and jumping hours hands are centrally mounted and all point to the same base 60 scale. Singer chronographs are the only ones to offer event measurement up to 60 hours. The time of day is displayed on the lower part of the dial, via two discs rotating beneath the dial surface. The disc inscriptions and time arrows are made of SuperLuminova®.
