Indonesia is trying to attract wealthy global citizens for long-term stays by banking on its trump card: Bali.
Those with at least 2 billion rupiah (US$129,000) in their bank accounts will now be eligible for a new “second home visa” of five years and 10 years.
The policy takes effect this Christmas.
Indonesia now joins a list of countries, from Costa Rica to Mexico, offering long-term stays to lure professionals, retirees and other affluent people.
