After reports that the special counsel is investigating Donald Trump for obstruction of justice, Trump appeared to accuse deputy attorney general Rod Rosenstein, whom he had praised for recommending the firing of James Comey, of conducting a “witch hunt”.

Rosenstein appointed the special counsel, Robert Mueller. The boulder set loose by Trump’s latest tweet could lead to Rosenstein’s recusal from the case and strengthen any obstruction of justice case against Trump, legal experts say.

As the Russia investigation grows, Mike Pence hired a personal lawyer last week. And now NBC News has reported that Trump’s longtime lawyer, Michael Cohen, has hired a lawyer of his own. Better safe than sorry?
