Miley Cyrus wears her engagement ring in her new single

Miley Cyrus just shared the cover art for her new single “Malibu,” which is releasing tomorrow. The singer posted the image on Instagram this afternoon, featuring a fresh-faced Cyrus lying in the grass, wearing her engagement ring. Her fiancé Liam Hemsworth even took the photo.

The song is actually a tribute to Hemsworth, Cyrus revealed in a recent interview. It’s also titled after the city in which they live together (along with their dogs, horses and pigs). She explained why she wanted to dedicate the song to her relationship: “They’re going to talk about me if I come out of a restaurant with Liam. So why not put the power back in my relationship and say, ‘This is how I feel’?”

Although the pair is happily together now, they did take a break when they called off their engagement in 2013.
“I needed to change so much,” Cyrus said of their breakup. “And changing with someone else not changing like that is too hard. Suddenly you’re like, ‘I don’t recognize you anymore.’ We had to refall for each other.”
