Do you feel like you are struggling to find the balance between family and work?
There are many people who do.
When you feel like you are putting your business in front of your family, it can create tension. And that’s when the mom guilt starts to set it in.
I have talked to so many Network Marketers over the years, and it seems that this is the common denominator that actually causes a lot of people to quit the industry, especially Moms.
I have been there.
I am going to share with you my 3 steps to help you overcome the mom guilt and grow your business without sacrificing your family relationships.
PUT YOUR FAMILY FIRST
Put your kids first.
Now we have all heard that before. You have been to your company’s conventions, and you have heard of results driven behavior.
So many times, the leaders on the stage forget to tell you, it is okay to be a mom first. It’s okay to be a dad first. To be a wife, or husband first.
It is okay to put your relationship and your family before your business.
Now, that being said, you can’t sit around watching Netflix all day with your kids and expect your business to grow.
You do need to focus on result driven behaviors everyday.
However, if you put your children first, and your spouse, you will find that you are happier in growing your team.
Your family will be happier with you growing your team, and you will get more done in less time.
PROTECT YOUR NON-NEGOTIABLES
One thing I have done to help me with this, is I have an actual calendar.
On the calendar I put the non-negotiable things in first.
The things I refuse to miss, including vacations, ball games, dance recitals. I am not missing the things that matter most.
Be intentional about being present with the important things.
I have been able to train my daughter to allow me to work in condensed sections, when you have their permission, because you put them first, it makes everything much smoother.
YOUR BUSINESS IS A BUSINESS
You want to be intentional with your time, and picking a strategy and sticking to it.
Make sure that the strategy you choose is in alignment with who you are and your core values, and how you want your business to grow.
I don’t know very many brick and mortar businesses that are just going in and cold messaging strangers.
You have to treat your business like a business.
That means learning how to network online and how to market online.
TIME BLOCKING IS ESSENTIAL
You need to make use of time blocking.
This is where you set aside a certain amount of time to work on your business.
This is especially important with the summer months coming and the kids home.
I have found that working in 20 minute time blocks work best for me. The kids are content for 20 minutes at a time.
This is what works for me, for you it could be longer or different times throughout the day.
This is what I teach my team to do.
Add those time blocks to your calendar, and make a plan. Decide how you are going to spend each time block.
It could be the first one is spent doing nothing but growing your business.
The next block is spent engaging with that network. And the next one is spent having actually conversations about your business.
IT IS POSSIBLE
So remember, put your kids first. Put those non-negotiables on the calendar.
And this means, when its family time, you are not working on your business. You are intentional and present.
Have a strategy that is in alignment with who you are and your core values.
You want to be excited to wake up and grow your business everyday.
And time block to utilize your time in the most efficient way possible.
It is absolutely possible to grow your online business without sacrificing any relationships with those people that matter most to you. You just have to choose the right online business
