Are you tired of seeing the same old ineffective healthcare systems in Nigeria and Africa? Are you tired of donated, outdated medical equipment being shipped from Europe and being expected to fix all of your country’s healthcare problems? Well, I certainly was. But I wasn’t just going to sit back and accept the status quo. I decided to take matters into my own hands and make a change.

My name is Professor Ifeoma Okoye, but you may know me as Pinky Prof. I am on a mission to revolutionize the healthcare industry in Nigeria and Africa by creating a framework for sponsored clinical drug trials. I am tired of seeing the lack of infrastructure and human resource development in our healthcare system, and I believe that by creating a destination for sponsored clinical trials, we can significantly improve the quality of healthcare in our country.

I started the Association for Good Clinical Practices with the goal of making Nigeria a world-class destination for offshore clinical trials. I was tired of seeing the major teaching hospitals in Nigeria and Africa struggling with outdated equipment and inefficient systems. I knew that we deserved better, and I was determined to make a change. Becoming a destination for sponsored clinical trials not only brings in much-needed funding for infrastructure development but also provides invaluable experience and training for healthcare professionals in our country.

But becoming an Ashoka Fellow was not an easy feat. I faced many obstacles along the way, from bureaucratic red tape to skepticism from my colleagues. However, I refused to back down. I knew that the work I was doing was important, and I was not going to let anything stand in my way. I worked tirelessly to build partnerships with pharmaceutical companies and research institutions, and slowly but surely, my vision started to become a reality.

Today, I am proud to say that Nigeria is well on its way to becoming a top destination for sponsored clinical trials. The Association for Good Clinical Practices has paved the way for a new era of healthcare in our country, one that is built on innovation, collaboration, and excellence. I am constantly amazed by the progress we have made and the impact we have had on the healthcare industry in Nigeria and Africa.

But my work is far from over. I will continue to push the boundaries of what is possible in healthcare and strive to make a lasting impact on the lives of millions of people in our country. I am not just a healthcare professional; I am a change maker, a trailblazer, and a force to be reckoned with. And I will not rest until every person in Nigeria has access to the quality healthcare they deserve.

So, if you are tired of seeing the same old ineffective healthcare systems in Nigeria and Africa, join me in my mission to revolutionize the industry. Together, we can make a difference and create a brighter future for healthcare in our country. The time for change is now, and I am ready to lead the way. Let’s make Nigeria a world-class destination for healthcare innovation and excellence. Are you with me?
