Happy birthday, Onyinyechukwu!
Truly, you are a gift from God, a light in this family, and a blessing to everyone who knows you. Mummy’s captivating story says it all, you are one of a kind.
Onyi, my sister, in whom I am very well pleased. You are dramatic at times, a trickster when the mood strikes 🤣, but always intelligent, beautiful, determined, calm, resilient, inspiring, a high achiever, a go-getter, a homebody, committed, dedicated, strong, disciplined, and the list could go on forever. I always say to people, “Don’t worry about my sister; she’s not like us mere mortals. She’s not from this planet.” Onyinye cannot be analyzed or understood like the rest of us, because you are truly different, truly superhuman.
Your strength has always left me in awe. I will never forget how it shone through during the darkest days of your life, some 11 years ago. Watching you go through that, I was amazed. Your resilience wasn’t just for yourself, it gave strength to all of us. You became our anchor.
When my own challenges came, you were there for me too. You gave me tough love when I needed it (lol), even when I didn’t want to hear it. You reminded me that strength was the only way through, even though some days it felt impossible to muster. In your own way, you guided me, giving advice that always, always made sense. You cried with me, comforted me, and found the words to make me feel better. But beyond all that, you showed me what strength really looks like. You taught me to fight my battles with everything I had, and because of you, I came out victorious.
God has truly been good to us. He continues to bless us daily, to watch over us, to protect us. Despite everything life throws at us, we keep rising above. And from Mummy’s message, it’s clear that this resilience runs deep in our family. Challenges come, but with vigor and faith, we always pull through, like beacons lighting the way.
Onyi, you are truly Nwachinemere! You’ve taught me so much over the years, not just about strength but about confidence and excellence. I’ll never forget the day I joined you for a meeting in Lagos. I watched you take control of the room with such ease, and I was in awe. Since that day, every time I walk into a meeting, I channel that same energy I saw in you. You inspire me to be better, to aim higher.
38! Wow! I still can’t believe it. We’re growing older, but God has been so faithful to us. December 1st will always be a day to celebrate because it’s the day our family was given this incredible gift…you. You may be a homebody, always tucked away in your world, but honestly, I can’t imagine my life without you in it.
Love you so much, Onyi. Keep being unapologetically yourself, strong, inspiring, and extraordinary.
