The space
Pet friendly, this secluded and cosy house is made up of one large round room with a wood burner, sumptuous leather chairs and a Super King bed with all the necessary essentials, along with a side room including an efficient kitchen and bathroom with shower and toilet. Venturing out, the house has its own private pier on the lake, fireplace for the colder evenings and two vintage style bicycles for exploring the beautiful natural surroundings.
The house was handcrafted in 1856, is situated within a Victorian pleasure ground and was built as a fishing and shooting lodge for the Earls of Bradford, who during their time entertained such guests as Benjamin Disraeli, the famous prime minister, renowned poet Sir Walter Scott, and Sir Edwin Landseer. The local area is steeped in incredible history and heritage, with Weston Park, Boscobel House and The Royal Oak only a short distance away.
Off-grid lodge: the house is not connected to the main supply of utilities, we have made all the necessities such as hot water, heating etc. available via a generator. We kindly ask that you please use very sparingly and instead take advantage of the numerous candles supplied and fire wood provided, adding to the already enchanting atmosphere of the Hansel & Gretel House.
