DISRESPECT: THE ROOT OF REBELLION AND RUIN

Let me speak to the **spiritual cancer** spreading through this generation like wildfire.

It’s not just bad behavior. It’s not just attitude. It’s not just a phase your kids are going through.

No, no, no.

What I’m talking about is **disrespect** — and it’s killing destinies faster than you can say “I know better.”

Disrespect isn’t cute. Disrespect isn’t cool. Disrespect is not freedom of expression.
**Disrespect is rebellion.** And rebellion? Man, that’s straight-up warfare against God.

So today, we’re diving deep into the root of rebellion and ruin. We’re pulling back the veil. We’re calling sin what it is. And we’re telling truth like it is.

Because if you think disrespect is just for parents or pastors to worry about, then you’ve already been infected.

### 🧬 1. **WHAT IS DISRESPECT? IT’S A SPIRITUAL DISORDER**

Disrespect starts in the heart but ends up on your tongue, in your actions, and in your associations.

You don’t wake up one day and decide to curse out your mother. That doesn’t happen by accident.
No, disrespect begins as a seed — planted in pride, watered by arrogance, fertilized by laziness, and harvested in destruction.

Disrespect is rebellion against divine authority. Against parental honor. Against spiritual leadership. Against consecration. Against God’s Word.

And mark my words — when you start rebelling against the people God put in your life to guide you, you are walking directly into the devil’s trap.

Because here’s the deal:

👉 You cannot disrespect the ones God placed over you and expect Him to promote you.

You want promotion? Start with submission.
You want blessing? Start with obedience.
You want favor? Start with fear — fear of the Lord, and respect for those He has appointed.

### 👨‍👦‍👦 2. **DISRESPECT TO PARENTS: DESTINY OBSCURED IN DARKNESS**

Listen carefully — if you talk back to your parents, mock them, shame them, or make fun of their wisdom, you are playing with fire.

The Bible says:

> *“Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness.”* — Proverbs 20:20

That means your light goes out. Your destiny gets dark. Your future gets cloudy.

And listen to this next verse:

> *“The eye that mocketh at his father… the ravens shall pick it out.”* — Proverbs 30:17

Ladies and Gentlemen, that ain’t poetry. That’s prophecy. Mocking your parents attracts **divine judgment.**

Your parents may not be perfect. But they were chosen by God to raise you. To protect you. To prepare you.

If you disrespect them, you are cutting yourself off from blessings you don’t even understand yet.

You want success? Honor your parents.
You want protection? Respect your parents.
You want doors opened? Stop slamming them shut with your mouth.

### 💀 3. **SAMSON: A TRAGEDY OF DISRESPECT**

Let’s talk about Samson — the strongest man in the Bible. A Nazirite. Set apart for greatness.

But what destroyed him?

Disrespect.

He disrespected his calling. He disrespected his parents’ warnings. He went after a Philistine woman because he liked how she looked — not because it aligned with God’s purpose.

Judges 14:1–3 — Samson saw a girl and said, “She’s the one for me.” His parents warned him, but he didn’t care.

Then came the lion carcass — the moment he broke his consecration.

> *“He went down and talked with the woman, and he liked her… Then he returned later to marry her and turned aside to look at the lion’s carcass…”* — Judges 14:8-9

Samson touched death. He defiled himself. He violated Numbers 6 — the Nazirite vow — and opened the door to disaster.

His strength left him. His eyes were gouged out. His life ended in chains.

All because he disrespected divine boundaries.

Lesson?
👉 Disrespect for God’s standards leads to disqualification.
👉 Disrespect for your calling opens the door to captivity.

Don’t let your potential die because of pride.

### 🤯 4. **REBELLION IN HIGH PLACES: ABSALOM’S DOWNFALL**

Absalom was King David’s son. Royal blood. Charismatic. Popular. Handsome. But full of rebellion.

He stole hearts. He stole power. He stole the throne.

> *“Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel.”* — 2 Samuel 15:10

He raised a rebellion against his own father. The king. The anointed.

And where did that lead him?

To the forest.

To a tree.

To a hair snag.

> *“Now Absalom happened to meet the servants of David. Absalom rode into a great terebinth tree… his head was caught in the tree, and he was left hanging between heaven and earth.”* — 2 Samuel 18:9

He got stuck literally — and spiritually.

Then Joab killed him. Not with honor. With three spears.

Rebellion always ends in shame.

Mark 7:9-10 warns us — traditions can override divine commands. Don’t hide behind culture or custom to justify disobedience.

Rebellion is not independence.
Rebellion is not empowerment.
Rebellion is rejection of divine order.

### ⚠️ 5. **DEFILING THE SACRED: WHEN DISHONOR MEETS DESTRUCTION**

God does not play when it comes to holiness.

> *“For I will execute judgments on all the gods of Egypt.”* — Exodus 12:12

God judges every structure that dishonors Him. Every altar that’s polluted. Every life that’s defiled.

Priests were told not to touch dead bodies. Why? Because they represented God.

Leviticus 21:1 — *“They must not defile themselves by contact with a dead body.”*

Yet Samson touched a lion carcass. Defiled his consecration. Lost his power.

Same thing happens today when believers get involved in unholy things. When they hang with ungodly influences. When they joke about sin. When they wear disrespect like a badge of honor.

You defile your consecration, and suddenly, the anointing leaves. The vision fades. The dreams dry up.

👉 Disrespect desecrates dedication.
👉 Disrespect destroys destiny.

### 🙏 6. **PROPHETIC PRAYERS & DECLARATIONS**

Enough of the nonsense.

Time to repent.

Time to realign.

Here’s what I declare over every man, woman, and child reading this:

🔴 *Lord, forgive me for every act of dishonor.*
🔴 *Every word spoken in anger toward my parents, erase it.*
🔴 *Every thought of rebellion, break its power over me.*
🔴 *Every inherited spirit of disrespect, be broken now.*
🔴 *I submit myself to godly authority. I receive grace to honor those You have placed over me.*
🔴 *My destiny is restored. My light shines again. My path is clear.*
🔴 *I walk in reverence, not rebellion. In obedience, not opposition. In honor, not hatred.*

### 🔥 FINAL WORD: DISRESPECT DESTROYS DESTINY

You want to go far in life? Start by respecting those who are already there.

You want favor? Respect authority.
You want wisdom? Listen to those who’ve walked before you.
You want blessing? Honor the ones who birthed you.

Disrespect is not confidence.
Disrespect is not boldness.
Disrespect is not self-expression.

Disrespect is a **spiritual disorder** that leads to **eternal destruction.**

So if you’re serious about your future, stop talking back to your pastor.
Stop mocking your parents.
Stop disrespecting your elders.
Stop rejecting correction.

Because the same mouth that curses authority will never speak blessings.

GOD IS WATCHING.
YOUR FUTURE IS ON THE LINE.

**CHOOSE WISDOM. CHOOSE HONOR. CHOOSE OBE-DIEN-C-E.**
