Unleashing the Powerhouse: Celebrating My Incredible Friend Anthea Nwandu at 60
Ladies and Gentlemen, fasten your seatbelts because today, we’re diving into the extraordinary world of my dear friend, Anthea Nwandu. If you think you’ve heard of legends, think again. Anthea is the epitome of strength, genius, and heart, perfectly blended in an unstoppable force that has inspired thousands. This season she turns 60, and boy, are we going to celebrate!
Now, let’s get real. The world is full of talkers, but Anthea is a doer. I’ve known her for many years, and right from the start, I glimpsed the indomitable spirit driving her. Her father, who I interned with, as house officer, was not only my mentor & gynecologist, but also a great friend to my husband, [they were Lawn Tennis buddies, for years bf we got engaged], was a legendary Gynecologist, remarkable man know for his great expertise & empathy,….. that brilliance has clearly transcended through to his daughter..
Anthea is not just a high achiever—she’s a storm that sweeps away mediocrity, leaving excellence in her wake. Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, recognized by the American Academy of HIV Medicine, she’s broken barriers in Internal Medicine that many can only dream of. A Fellow of the American College of Physicians? Check! And the accolades don’t stop there, my Pinky Prof tribe .
Let me paint a picture of how intertwined our lives are. Our kids are buddies navigating the adventures of youth together. Her mother-in-law is related to my mother-in-law. You see the web of destiny here, don’t you? You could say we’re practically family, tied by fate and bound by friendship.
In a world where people often settle for ordinary, Anthea refuses to be in the crowd. She stands at the pinnacle, reshaping how medicine impacts lives because she knows that’s how true leaders make a mark.
Here’s what most people don’t understand—energy doesn’t come from being loud; it comes from relentless passion and dedication. Anthea has this aura that makes you want to leap off the couch and conquer your fears. She’s like a beacon, guiding the ship towards the land of purpose.
At 60, many begin to wind down, but Anthea? She’s just getting warmed up! If age is just a number, then sixty is her platform to launch greater exploits. She loves with ferocity, learns with curiosity, and leads with integrity.
She is a reminder that life isn’t to be endured—it is to be conquered. That’s the Anthea effect, and that’s why I am absolutely proud of her.
