TYPE XXI IN TITANIUM
The Type XXI watch is inspired by the Type XX chronograph designed by Breguet for the French navy in the 1950s. Its technical specificity lies in a chronograph minute counter positioned in the center, like the seconds counter. Its mechanical self-winding caliber is also equipped with the flyback function, a function specific to aeronautics that allows the chronograph counter to be instantly reset and restarted with a single operation.
The new Type XXI, presented in 2011, has for the first time a grade 2 titanium case equipped with a black lacquered rotating bezel whose numerals appear in relief. Its aesthetics are inspired by the old Type XX second generation models, developed between 1970 and 1984. Among its features, it has a date, a 24-hour indicator and a small second. Its 42mm diameter case is water-resistant to 100 meters thanks to a screwed crown.

Matte black dial signed Breguet. Luminescent hands and hour markers. Hour circle with Arabic numerals. Day/night indicator at 3 o’clock. 12-hour counter and date in an aperture at 6 o’clock. Small seconds at 9 o’clock. Minute counter in the center.

The “return to flight” function allows the chronograph hands to be reset to zero by simply pressing the push-button at 4 o’clock. The chronograph then immediately starts counting again. Without the “return to flight” function, three manipulations would be necessary for this operation.
