On Tuesday evening, Ben Affleck announced on Facebook that he quietly received and has just completed treatment for alcohol addiction. In his statement, he discussed his dedication to being a good father and gave a very special thanks to “my co-parent, Jen [Jennifer Garner], who has supported me and cared for our kids as I’ve done the work I set out to do.”

The news comes days after People reported that Garner and Affleck have called off their divorce for now (though a reconciliation isn’t reportedly imminent). Affleck has spoken before about his struggle with alcoholism and once went to rehab for treatment in 2001. He told The Mirror in 2008 that he then gave up drinking to be a better husband.
