To date, the “full black” square watch format is very clearly one of the distinctive signs by which a steel chronograph or, more generally, a Bell & Ross watches can be instantly recognised – including a diver’s diving watch from the Diver collection, where it is rather rare to find a square-shaped steel case. Even before the card of calibre and complications is drawn, the Bell & Ross aesthetic signature is essential. This BRV 2-94 chronograph is no exception. A pure Chrono that shows, through all the design details, that it belongs to a true 100% Bell & Ross collection.

GOLD & BLACK: THE NEW “BELLYTANKER” EDITION CHRONOGRAPH

Drawing on the heritage of the wristwatch, and more precisely the chronograph, Bell & Ross has just published a BRV 2-94 Bellytanker Bronze chronograph that combines steel and bronze, with always this “black” touch that can be seen on the dial of this new edition. Its steel case contains a Swiss Made calibre as for every collector’s wristwatch made by Bell & Ross. The dial is bronze, giving this Bellytanker chronograph a vintage look that is dear to the brand.

The bezel of the case of this chronograph watch has a black tachymeter scale, echoing the flange and “full black” counters of the dial. At 4:30 am, this new edition of a steel chronograph displays the date, an addition to the purely vintage style but which most Bell & Ross collectors want for its practical and contemporary character – participants in these small details that form the balance of a beautiful Bell & Ross chronograph.

As in every collection, Bell & Ross has played the safety card thanks to a scratchproof sapphire crystal that protects the watch from external aggressions. Last but not least, the brown leather strap, a vintage spirit that, like every watch that can be inherited, will skate with time. This is an attractive option chosen here by Bell & Ross, which is not systematic for each collection – on the square case of its Diver collection, the brand plays the diving card with a rubber strap, while it’s racing chronograph prefers a steel bracelet or an ultra-resistant composite bracelet.

With its bronze/champagne colour details, combined with the “full black” elements visible under the sapphire crystal, Bell & Ross has succeeded in creating to date a collector’s chronograph watch with slightly vintage accents, very distinct from its “Diver” universe, while borrowing its steel case, its Swiss Made calibre, a sapphire crystal and the date window under the chronograph counter. The polished steel case gives this new Bell & Ross the look of a discreet but raw wristwatch chronograph, subtle addition to the BRV collection (for Bell & Ross Vintage) that will delight collectors of mechanical movement chronographs.
