** The Truth Nobody Dares to Say About Empowering Women – My Take From the Commission on the Status of Women**

Let’s cut through the noise, shall we? Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned in my time as a fighter, entrepreneur, and provocateur, it’s that sugarcoating doesn’t solve problems—it hides them. And when you’re dealing with something as critical as empowering women, hiding behind platitudes is not just lazy; it’s dangerous.

Yesterday, I had the privilege—and let me tell you, it *is* a privilege—to attend the **Commission on the Status of Women**, alongside an incredible force of nature: the Honorable Minister for Women Affairs. Now, before you start throwing stones from your glass houses or canceling me because “why should Pinky Prof shouldn’t be talking about politicians ,” hear me out. You might actually learn something.

### **The Room Was Full of Leaders… But Where Were the Doers?**
Walking into that room felt like stepping into a battlefield—not the kind where swords clash but where egos compete over who can sound more woke. There were speeches, panels, discussions, all dripping with buzzwords like “equality,” “empowerment,” and “gender parity.” Everyone wanted to pat themselves on the back for being allies, champions, advocates.

But here’s what struck me: For every well-meaning speech about supporting women, there was a glaring absence of tangible action. It reminded me of those guys at the gym who talk big about their gains while never lifting a single weight. Talking isn’t doing. Promising isn’t delivering. And trust me, women don’t need another motivational quote—they need real results.

### **What Does Real Empowerment Look Like?**
Empowerment isn’t just handing someone a microphone so they can echo what society wants to hear. True empowerment means giving people tools, resources, and opportunities to carve their own path. Whether you’re a woman running a business, raising kids, or climbing the corporate ladder, empowerment starts with self-reliance. That’s right—the same principle applies whether you’re male, female, or anywhere in between.

And this is where things get uncomfortable. A lot of the conversations at the event revolved around systemic barriers, which are undeniably real. But here’s the kicker: While systems matter, mindset matters more. If you wait for the system to change without taking control of your own destiny, you’ll always be waiting. As someone who grew up in tough circumstances and fought tooth and nail to build my life, I know firsthand that success comes from within. It’s not given—it’s taken.

### **The Honorable Minister: A Beacon of Action**
Now, let’s talk about the star of the show—the Honorable Minister for Women Affairs. This woman didn’t come to play small. She came to lead big. Her presence commanded respect, her words carried authority, and her actions spoke louder than any hashtag ever could. She wasn’t interested in performative allyship; she was laser-focused on practical solutions.

One moment that stood out to me was when she called out empty promises made by organizations claiming to support women. “We don’t need more reports,” she said. “We need measurable outcomes.” Mic drop.

She reminded everyone in the room that true progress requires accountability—not just from governments and institutions but also from individuals. She challenged us to look inward and ask ourselves: What am I personally doing to uplift the women in my life? Are my actions aligned with my words? Or am I just part of the crowd nodding along?

### **Why Men Need to Step Up (Without Stepping In)**
Here’s the controversial part—brace yourselves. Men have a role to play in this conversation, but too often, they either dominate it or completely disengage. Neither approach helps anyone. We don’t need men speaking for women; we need men creating space for women to speak for themselves.

This doesn’t mean sitting on the sidelines, though. It means actively supporting initiatives led by women, amplifying their voices, and dismantling toxic behaviors that hold them back. Yes, this includes calling out other men when they act like idiots. Accountability starts at home, gentlemen. If you’re not willing to do the work, step aside and let someone else take the wheel.

### **The Pinky Prof Takeaway**
So, what did I walk away with from this groundbreaking event? A renewed sense of purpose. Supporting women isn’t just a moral obligation—it’s a strategic imperative. Strong women build strong families, strong communities, and ultimately, a stronger world. When women win, we all win.

But here’s the bottom line: Change won’t happen unless we stop treating empowerment like a trend and start treating it like a mission. Stop waiting for permission. Stop making excuses. Start doing the damn work.

To the Honorable Minister, thank you for reminding us that leadership isn’t about titles—it’s about impact. To the women in that room and around the world, keep fighting, keep striving, and keep breaking barriers. And to the men reading this, remember: Your strength lies not in dominating others but in empowering them.

Because at the end of the day, it’s not about who gets the credit—it’s about who gets the job done. And if we all commit to showing up, speaking up, and standing up, there’s no limit to what we can achieve together.

Now go out there and make it happen. The clock is ticking.

**Yours unapologetically,
Pinky Prof**
